Launch to Legacy Fundraiser & Day Party

There are some events you attend, and then there are events that remind you why you’re part of something in the first place.

The Veronica’s Way Launch to Legacy Day Party & Brunch was definitely the latter.

Celebrating 10 years of Veronica’s Way surrounded by so many of the people who have helped shape this journey was an incredible feeling. And honestly… we looked GOOD doing it!

From the beautiful, chic atmosphere at NoMa Social Restaurant & Lounge, to the incredible food, networking, conversations, and of course everyone showing up in their Beige & Earth Tone best, the afternoon felt like a true celebration.

But for us, the best part was knowing that we weren’t just celebrating a party.

We were celebrating 10 years of SERVICE.

Our Founder & CEO, Crispin Michael Booker, spoke to the room alongside our leadership team of Ronald Taylor, Board Chair; Napoleon Metelus, CIO; Gerold Picard, Director of Outreach & Media; Sebastian Paul, Board Member; and Lynn Casimir, Director of Operations—and it was a powerful reminder of just how far Veronica’s Way has come.

Over these 10 years, we’ve traveled to Grenada, Jamaica, Haiti, Ghana, and Costa Rica, bringing our mission with us every step of the way.

We’ve built 62 computer labs, helping create opportunities for students who might otherwise never have had access to these resources.

And the number that really puts it all into perspective?

More than 58,000 students impacted.

Think about that for a moment.

Nearly 60,000 young people whose lives have been touched because a group of people decided that service could change lives.

That’s what we were really celebrating.

We were also blessed to have Ahmad McDougal, National President of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship, Inc., with us, along with members representing five different chapters. For 10 years, Groove Phi Groove has been a major sponsor and incredible partner in our mission trips. That kind of partnership doesn’t just happen.  It is built through years of shared commitment to service.

And just when we thought the afternoon couldn’t get any better, we announced what’s next.

2027 will be to St. Vincent and the Grenadines!!! Then we’re headed to Barbados. Then Sierra Leone… And eventually, we’re going back to Jamaica.

That’s the thing about Veronica’s Way. We don’t celebrate the past and then stop. We celebrate it, learn from it, and use it to fuel what’s next.

And we’re looking for more people to be part of that next chapter. Veronica’s Way is growing our travel team and Board, and we’re excited about the people who are going to join us on this journey.

Ten years down.

And the best is still ahead.

Here’s to the legacy we’ve built and the lives we’re still going to touch.
